Foundation
The Unity Church of Truth Spokane Foundation was created to "provide a channel for church members or others to express their spiritual nature of love and generosity through gifts of an enduring nature for support of the Unity ministry."
As giving is an expression of our spiritual nature. Giving activates spiritual laws, which state that giving and receiving are one. Through giving we affirm that our source is unseen and transcends the worldly realm. It places our faith in God and the infinite source. God is blessing our lives in wondrous ways.
In addition, a gift of love to a spiritual endeavor such as the Unity Foundation furthers God’s work upon this planet. In this way the gift is a blessing a person extends to the community and endures for years.
The Foundation was organized in 1985 as a separate Washington State nonprofit foundation to benefit the Unity Church of Truth of Spokane. The Foundation was established to provide members and supporters of the Church with alternatives that are everlasting and tax deductible. The purpose of the Foundation is to support the mission and programs of the Church by distributing interest, dividends,
and appreciation on the investments of the foundation.
How the Foundation Works:
The Unity Church of Truth Spokane Foundation is an entity managed by Foundation Directors. There are five (5) Directors that make up the Foundation Board. The Church Board of Trustees appoints directors from the active membership of the Church. One member of the Church Board of Trustees also serves as a Director of the Foundation.
The Foundation Directors have the responsibility of receiving gifts of all kinds and investing all gifts in a financially responsible manner. The Foundation Directors are responsible for creating awareness and educating the membership about the various methods of planned giving.
The Foundation board annually disperses dividends, interest and/or appreciation earned on the investments of Foundation assets to the church. Foundation assets represent the gifts made to the Foundation and are the principal assets. The principal assets are always retained in the Foundation to be continuously invested, therefore, making your gifts everlasting.
